The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions at the Osun State University has urged religious leaders not to play up religious sentiment into the crisis rocking the university. A group known as the Coalition of Muslims’ Rights Activists Nigeria, in a statement, had accused Governor Rauf Aregbesola of allowing Christian-dominated governing council of the university to victimize the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bashir Okesina, who is a Muslim. The group alleged that the Prof. Gabriel Olawayin (SAN)-led council suspended the VC despite the fact that the council had no power to do so. Apart from the VC, the Registrar, Mr. Julius Faniran, and the Bursar, Mr. Fatai Lasisi, are also on suspension.
